Step into a calmer time and glide through snowy forests on a traditional reindeer-drawn sleigh. This gentle two-hour journey offers peaceful Arctic scenery, warm drinks by a fire, and authentic stories about reindeer life. A cosy, family-friendly experience perfect for anyone seeking a quiet taste of Lapland’s winter magic.
Reindeer ride
This traditional reindeer sleigh ride invites you to experience winter the way Lapland’s locals once travelled — slowly, silently and in harmony with nature. Your guide welcomes you at the reindeer farm, where calm, well-trained reindeer are harnessed to wooden sleighs. Wrapped in warm blankets, you set off on a peaceful 3-kilometre route through snowy forests and open landscapes. The only sounds are the soft steps of the reindeer and the sleigh gliding across untouched snow.
After the ride, you gather inside a cosy wooden kota — a wilderness hut warmed by an open fire. Here you’ll enjoy hot drinks, sweet pastries and traditional sausages grilled over the flames. Your host shares stories about reindeer herding, seasonal life in Lapland and the cultural traditions that still shape the north today.
This experience is gentle, safe and suitable for all ages. It offers a quiet, atmospheric moment away from the everyday rush — perfect for couples, families, or anyone wishing to reconnect with nature in an authentic way. No previous experience is needed; all clothing and equipment are provided.
